PXU is proud to share the news of two more Million Dollar Scholars, both from Betty Fairfax š Xavier Koch is at $1.7M in total awarded scholarships and will attend College of the Redwood on a football scholarship to study kinesiology. Riauna Young is at $1.04M and will attend Spelman College to major in photography with a minor in business. The district-wide Million Dollar Scholar total for this year is now at 10 š„ Congratulations to both of them!

Graduation is almost here and preparations are happening all across the district! š Today, we stopped by South and saw the student speakers for Southās graduation practicing their speeches. Dania Sarat is a daughter of immigrants headed to Ivy League Dartmouth to study sociology on track to working in the medical field. Tania Salmeron Jaramillo is off to UNLV to study health science with a focus on physician assistant studies. Lastly, Isaih Bland is going to Gateway Community College to study Cosmetology. Tonight, the PXU Governing Board recognized members of the Class of 2025 from across the district to celebrate our upcoming graduations. Congratulations to Micah Carter, Gianna Rico, Xavier Best, Seanelle Carlisle, Julianna Ramirez Fernandez, Alan Diaz Villezcas, and Ernestina Ruelas. š
The Board also recognized 31 students who participated in our annual HBCU tour, visiting multiple Historically Black Colleges and Universities and learning about their offerings. We want to thank the Burton Family Foundation for funding this important trip and congratulate all who attended! š



PXU would like to thank the Maryvale Touring Guitar Ensemble for performing at tonightās Governing Board Meeting š¶ We are proud of them for bringing home many top awards this year and representing Phoenix Union well. š

This morning, PXU is holding another ESP Super PD Saturday where our Education Support Professionals are receiving Professional Development focused on the value of coaching methods in our professional lives. š We appreciate our Talent team and all our instructors for supporting this effort for our ESP's. Yesterday, the Phoenix Union Foundation for Education Scholarship Reception was hosted at South š Over $93,000 in scholarships were awarded this year to incredible graduating seniors from across the district. Thank you to everyone who made this event happen, and congratulations to our scholars! šš
