Today, we stopped by Wilson College Prep to see their Summer School and Freshman LAUNCH students at work ⨠The Freshman LAUNCH students participated in an activity where they grouped up and had to create a race car with materials like lifesaver candies, straws, toothpicks, tape, and cardstock. It was a lot of fun seeing the ideas all of the students had. š„










Today, we checked in with our Cactus Canyon Freshman LAUNCH students who had lessons in everything from Canva to Ceramics ⨠In Ceramics specifically, students worked on their interpretation of a tic tac toe board, adding glaze to their pieces. We are so proud of all the learning happening on our campuses this summer! š










We are loving the learning happening this summer on our campuses š„ Yesterday, we stopped by Bioscience while they worked on projects and did some team building. Today, we went to Betty Fairfax while their Freshman LAUNCH students participated in an activity where each group had to see who could build the tallest free-standing structure. We had the opportunity to see a 59.5 inch structure created š We canāt wait to see what our students are accomplishing next week āØ










PXU would like to congratulate Juan Viveros, recent graduate of Metro Tech, for placing first at the SkillsUSA National Conference in the Internet of Things (IOT) Smart Home category š Juan, equipped with his own tools, had to set up various devices for a Smart Home, doing all of the wiring and mounting himself. He is mainly self-taught, but credits the Computer Maintenance and Cybersecurity as well as the Software Development CTE programs at Metro Tech for supporting his skillset. In the fall, he will attend Carleton College in Minnesota to study Computer Science. He hopes to have a career as a repair technician because he loves working with hardware. Summer at PXU is unmatched š„ Yesterday, we stopped by Central for a lesson on plating in Culinary then made our way to Alhambra during their Sports Medicine activity on how to do compression only CPR. Today, we went to Trevor Browne during Marketing class and watched our students make marketing plans for items with a twist: they had to come up with a new purpose for the item. We canāt wait to keep joining in on the incredible learning happening across PXU this summer āØ

PXU is proud to share the news of yet another Class of 2026 Million Dollar Scholar š Yaire Valdez Adame just graduated from Trevor G. Browne and has been offered over 1.5M in total scholarships. She is off to WashU in the fall to study cognitive neuroscience on a pre-med track. Congratulations, Yaire! š„³

Tonight was the All PXU Sports Awards at Central High School š„ Athletes from across the district came together to celebrate their accomplishments and recognize excellence. Seeing how many students who are connected and involved in sports on their campuses always makes us so proud.
