We had a lot of amazing celebrations tonight at the PXU Governing Board Meeting 🎉. First, the Board celebrated Black History Month by inviting the South Step Team to perform with special guests from Bernard Black 🔥. Next, the Board recognized 3 North wrestlers exhibiting incredible sportsmanship, Aiden Galaviz, Alexander Liberato Ruiz, and Julian Ceballos🤼. The Board then recognized all of PXU’s new and maintaining NBCT’s 👏. Finally, they celebrated the Board being complete with 7 members after the elections of Aaron Marquez and Francisco Pastor-Rivera. 🥳

It’s been a great week so far because it’s National School Counseling Week! 🔥 We are endlessly grateful for the hard work and dedication of all our counselors across the district to ensure our students succeed. Make sure you thank your counselors this week ❤️

This weekend, Metro Tech’s very own Flower Shop had a display at Tempe Blooms 💐 Congratulations to them for taking third place and representing both Metro Tech and Phoenix Union well 🔥👏

This past Friday, PXU’s Small Schools participated in the first annual South Mountain Community College/PXU Small Schools Basketball Tournament🏀. The final match was an exciting contest between Bio and Bostrom. Congrats to Bioscience for taking the tournament, and a huge shout out to all the schools and students that participated. Thank you to SMCC for hosting and for providing informative breakout sessions for students between games so they can learn about and prepare for higher education. 🏀🎓🎉

This morning, the Martin Luther King Day Assembly at Betty H. Fairfax High School celebrated the civil rights movement and Dr. Martin Luther King with presentations by the LGBTQ and Japanese clubs, performances by the school’s dance team 💃🏾 and choir, and professional dancers and drummers that taught the students multicultural dances. 😌 🩵 🎶
