The Benefit's Open Enrollment period will be from May 1, 2025, through 5:00pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025, for benefits effective on July 1, 2025.
PXU offers you and your eligible family members a comprehensive and valuable benefits program. We encourage you to take this opportunity to educate yourself about your options and choose the best coverage for you and your family for the upcoming plan year. Please review the Employee Benefits Enrollment Guide via the link below for summaries of the different benefit options and costs for the period of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. If you have any questions or need assistance completing your insurance elections, your Benefit's Team will be visiting each campus during the month of May. Please review the Meeting Schedule via the link below and plan on attending the Meeting that works best for you.
Action needed!
If you are currently enrolled in the High or Middle option for your Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona medical insurance, you must change to a different option (Choice PPO, Alliance Low or the HDHP) during this Open Enrollment period because your plan will be discontinued for the 2025-2026 plan year. If you do not complete your Open Enrollment, you and any currently covered dependents will be changed to the Choice PPO option and you will be responsible for the applicable premiums-no exceptions.
Follow up may be needed!
If you enrolled/reenrolled your Domestic Partner (DP) into your insurance, you must complete and return the below form to Cyndy Nelke, Benefits, no later than 5/31/2025. Note: this form is used for all insurances not just medical.
Also, if you increased your supplemental life amount above the guaranteed issue amounts (See Guide) or you don't currently have this coverage and enrolled during this Open Enrollment period, you must complete the Evidence of Insurability questionnaire via the link below and be approved for coverage. Election does not guarantee coverage.
Leaving PXU?
If you are leaving PXU at the end of your contract, you do not need to complete Open Enrollment. You will be sent COBRA continuation paperwork vis U.S. mail from our TPA, BASIC. If applicable, you will elect and pay for your COBRA via BASIC directly.
Note: If you are planning on keeping your PXU insurance via COBRA and wish to change your plans effective 7/1/2025 as part of this year's Open Enrollment, you may do so by requesting the applicable forms from Cyndy Nelke. Also, if you elect COBRA and are enrolled in the High or Middle medical options, you must change your option effective 7/1/2025.
