Welcome to the Academies at South Mountain – Jaguar Nation! We encourage students to dream big dreams and set goals for their future. We are an academies model high school which offers students the benefits of both a large school and a small school atmosphere. We offer four Academies - Freshman Academy; Media Arts and Design; Science, Technology and Aerospace; and Public and Social Services. Each of the Academies offers unique experiences to students in an area of their interest. The Academies empower students through career exposure so they can make informed decisions and discover their true passions. With the collaboration of our business and community partners, students experience authentic work-based learning opportunities at every level. We are committed to ensuring all of our students are provided opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, and excellence they need to be successful individuals.

About South
South Mountain is a Kids at Hope school which means we are committed to the belief that all youth are capable of success, NO EXCEPTIONS! In order to make that vision a reality, we aspire to ensure that all adults are treasure hunters and every youth is a time traveler. Treasure hunters search for the skills, talents and intelligences in all children/youth. Time travel is the ability to envision one’s future in home & family, education & career, community & service, and hobbies & recreation and create a plan for developing the skills needed to experience success in life’s destination points.
