Michelle Luna

Maryvale GTA senior Michelle Luna has been named a 2026 Flinn Scholarship semifinalist.

The 79 Flinn Scholarship Semifinalists were selected from nearly 1,150 applications received from Arizona’s urban, rural, and tribal communities.  The Semifinalists reside in 12 of Arizona’s 15 counties and attend 63 high schools, a mix of traditional public, charter, and private schools.

Now in its 41st year, the Flinn Scholarship remains one of Arizona’s most generous and prestigious undergraduate awards. The merit-based award is valued at more than $135,000 and includes funding for international study, mentorship, and membership in a community of high-achieving peers statewide. The 20 Flinn Scholars ultimately selected for the award will attend Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, or the University of Arizona starting in fall 2026.

If you have the honor of knowing Michelle, you know what an exceptional student and individual she is.  Her maturity, initiative, and leadership are rare even among the most talented of young people.

As Semifinalists, students become eligible for a special tuition scholarship from Arizona’s three public universities. ASU, NAU, and U of A extend this opportunity as a recognition of exceptional achievement and as an investment in the future contributions these students are poised to make.  The Flinn Scholars Class of 2026 will be announced in April.
