Advanced Readiness at Chavez High (ARCH) is a premiere micro-school housed within the Chavez campus for students interested in attending a competitive four-year national university by making those students competitive on a national scale. The primary mission of ARCH is to help students achieve admission to competitive universities around the country, be able to afford those universities, and give those students the necessary skills to thrive at a competitive university. It is an application-based four-year cohort program that pushes students to excel at high levels.
Since its humble conception in 2007 as an affiliation with Mr. Kibler's Academic Decathalon (ACADEC), ARCH students earned more than $28.7 million for higher education. Over 150 colleges and universities have accepted ARCH students. These colleges and universities include the Ivy League (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Brown, Colombia), top-rated national universities (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Vanderbilt University, Rice University, University of Notre Dame, UCLA), and outstanding liberal arts colleges (Williams College, Amherst College, Swarthmore College, Pomona College, Carleton College, Middlebury College).
ARCH officially became a micro-school in 2021 under the guidance of Dr. Angela Foreman as the ARCH Leader and Mr. Matthew Georgia, principal of Chavez High School. ARCH foundations were developed with the help of Mr. Kibler and the ARCH teacher mentors.
Mr. David Hoskinson contributed to the formation of our ARCH Website and making the ARCH application digital, among other contributions, as the ARCH leader during the 2022 - 2023 school year.
As the new Micro School leader and Administrator for 2023 - 2024, under the guidance of Mr. Robert Grant I look forward to many milestones. As of October, 2023, we have accomplished the following:
* Several students applied for and earned free college campus visits to NAU, Columbia University and Davidson College
*ARCH attended the HBCU College Fair on 9/27/23 at Phoenix College
*ARCH hosted our first mini-college fair on 10/16/23 with schools from CTCL (Colleges That Change Lives).
*Representatives from Harvard and the U.S. Naval Academy visited our campus to speak to students.
*ARCH is home of one of PXU's million dollar scholarship winner- senior Tremarion Thomas
* Senior Nyapech Gony has been accepted to Rutgers, Ohio Wesleyan, St. Mary's College, Loyola University and wooster College
I look forward to helping develop ARCH into a micro-school powerhouse in the upcoming years.
