PXU is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Martin Caballero to serve as the next principal of Phoenix Union Wilson College Prep. Caballero will replace Mr. Keoni Dang, who has served in this role since the school’s inception in 2017.
Caballero is a proud alum of Phoenix Union, graduating from Cesar Chavez High School in 2007. He returned to PXU in 2011 to begin his educational career as a teacher at Betty Fairfax. In 2017, he helped open Wilson as a teacher. He currently serves as the Assistant Principal for Student Success at Central High School.
Mr. Caballero holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Math from Arizona State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership & Administration from Grand Canyon University.
"Mr. Caballero is a product of Phoenix Union with a story that mirrors the journey of many of our students," said PXU Superintendent Dr. Chad Gestson. "His experience with Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), and his love for the Wilson staff, students, and community will provide stability and success for years to come.”
