17th Annual MATA ORTIZ potter visit

The ART DEPARTMENT presents our 17th Annual MATA ORTIZ potter visit!

We will host the Mata Ortiz Potters December 2nd and 3rd in the MUSTANG HALL this year!

North students will have the opportunity to meet with working artists, Lupe Soto and Yolanda Soto. The artists will share their experiences of creating pottery, their inspirations, and their development as artists.  They will also hold workshops with students.

Lupe Soto and her sister Yolanda are graciously demonstrating their craft, they are extremely skilled artists and their work is highly sought after! You will not regret taking the time to give yourself and your students this opportunity to learn about the process.

This is an excellent opportunity to do some holiday shopping by buying directly from the artists a unique/original work of art! Prices start at $10 and go up depending on the size of the work, the intricacies of the design, as well as the notoriety of the artist. You can't beat the prices anywhere else as you are buying directly from the artists, avoiding gallery mark-ups!

This truly is a remarkable experience!

Parents and members of the community are invited to view the art and meet with the artists at North High School on December 2 and 3, from 8 am - 3 pm. Please check in at the front office to receive a campus pass and directions.
