Ever wonder how a newspaper goes from a blank page to print? What really happens behind a television camera inside a recording studio? Who determines what tunes to spin on your favorite radio station? The answers are waiting at the Multimedia Communications department at South Mountain High School. With state-of-the-art equipment and facilities (including a TV studio, KJAG radio station and computer labs), in addition to teaching professionals, our programs are regarded as some of the best in the country. Programs Students who have a real way with words may have the "write stuff" for our Multimedia Journalism program.Students interested in music, news, special formatting and being "heard but not seen," may find their place in the Radio Broadcasting program. Not sure how to channel your communication energy? Our Multimedia Communications course offers students opportunities to sample a variety of multimedia production areas: multimedia journalism; radio broadcasting; and video production.Our program is unique, providing many opportunities for students to integrate their technical and creative skills with other Magnet programs and academic courses. Our many internship program partnerships with local broadcast, cable stations and other media organizations provide extensive, practical, on-the-job experience.Courses:Lower Division:- Multimedia Communications
