Dear Maryvale Community, 

Recently, Principal John Doherty announced he will leave Maryvale High School at the end of this school year and will transition into a new role as a Talent Director. We want to thank him for his service to the Maryvale community and for all the work she has done to move our school forward. As we begin the process of identifying the next principal for our school, we invite our staff, students, and families to attend the upcoming principal forum to meet the finalists for our school’s next principal.

The community forum will take place in person on Monday, May 12, beginning at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.  

We are pleased to announce the following finalists:

• Homar Delgado, current assistant principal at Alhambra High School

• Angela Groves, current assistant principal at Maryvale High School

• Rene Martinez, current assistant principal at Maryvale High School

• Amarilis Granillo-Sotelo, current assistant principal at Betty H. Fairfax High School
