Bachelors degree in Women and Gender Studies/Masters degree in Secondary Education. I am currently working on a second Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

I started teaching after working for a semester as a long-term substitute. I was at a point in my career that I wanted to make a change. I instantly loved working with young adults. Helping students find their voice in their writing became my passion. I know that many students do not come into language arts classes loving reading or writing, but when I help my students learn to foster their talents and find their voices, I know that they will develop a stronger bond between language and communication.

Teaching Freshmen is my favorite because I get to watch them grow into the awesome people that they will be by the end of their four years in high school. Teachers are incredibly lucky because we are given the gift of building relationships with our students that can last a lifetime. Watching my students grow into who they will be after high school is a gift. In my classroom we will learn, engage, and build connections with each other. I can't wait to meet you!

I also sponsor the LGBTQIA+ club at Maryvale High School. Our club is called SPECTRUMS and embraces all people. We meet in room 727 on Fridays after school. I hope to meet you soon!

In my free time I love to travel and go on adventures with friends and family. I love animals and have three cats and a tiny puppy. I can't wait until she is a little more grown and stops waking me up at 4am!
