• Welcome to ARCH

    ARCH logo

ARCH is designed for students with a strong aspiration to achieve the goals and accomplishments required for a competitive university. We are seeking students who are motivated to achieve more, to improve themselves, and to challenge their own boundaries. ARCH provides students the opportunity to lead and serve the community by requiring them to complete 20 hours of community service each semester. One of the primary distinctions of ARCH is the unique and hands-on learning opportunities that students get to experiences such as enrichment experiences including ongoing visits to museums, regional college fairs, performances, and partnerships with local organizations.

ARCH students have a record of success! ARCH students routinely generate more than $5,000,000 a year in college scholarships. ARCH alumni have completed and published original research and 100% of ARCH students have attended a university. Alumni are now lawyers, medical students, business owners, software developers, nurses, engineers, psychiatrists, chemists, and teachers.

More than 300 students have been accepted to approximately 150 different colleges and universities because of the principles that became Advanced Readiness at Chavez High. ARCH graduates are all over the country and some even live internationally.

We believe that students in ARCH need to have the mindset of continuous growth and be the best version of themselves, both academically and non-academically.  ARCH students are expected to learn at a deeper level, engage in the community, and be driven as leaders in all facets of their lives. The expectations are high, but we believe that creating a cohort of students and families that support each other will produce incredible opportunities and options for college. Because ARCH is a rigorous program, we recognize the social and emotional needs of our students and embed opportunities and training to help support student self-growth, self-awareness, and self-care. Strengthening social and emotional skills such as resilience, perseverance and grit is essential. 21stCentury Skills (communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking) are common themes along with leadership and emotional intelligence. The ARCH teacher cohort provides additional enrichment.

We welcome you to apply and look forward to meeting our newest cohort of ARCH students. We are here to love and support you through this journey. In the application, you will find more information about the ARCH Program and the application process, including timelines. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the application process, please do not hesitate to contact David R. Hoskinson, ARCH Manager (hoskinson@phoenixunion.org).
