B.S. in Public Management Masters inPhysical Education with Health endorsement
Ms. Arlene Purdy
I was born and raised in small town Arizona, but Phoenix has served as my home for over 20 years. I spent my early college years in Tucson, Arizona where I graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Public Administration. I was able to specialize in Management as well as Health and Human Services with the P.A. degree. I then became a part of the full-time workforce with my employment as an Oncology Research Coordinator at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
After some time I started a new position that became my biggest career challenge of all, and that was of course parenthood. When my kids became fairly self-sufficient, I was ready to embark on a new challenge. I wanted a career that filled my passion to serve, and for me that meant teaching health. I went back to school and received my masters degree from Arizona State University where I earned my secondary teaching certificate in Health and Physical Education. This led to my current teaching position at Central High School and it is a perfect fit. I love leaning with my health students and guiding them through the academic process as it brings me great joy and fulfillment.
