Ms. Miriam Goldie

Hello!

My name is Miriam Goldie and I teach English 3-4, English 5-6, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) elective. This is my 17th year teaching English Language Arts. I began my career as a middle school teacher, and have spent the past 10 years at Trevor G. Browne High School. I earned  B.A. in English Literature from Arizona State University, and an M. Ed. in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix. In 2017, I achieved National Board Certification in Early Adolescent/Youg Adulthood English Language Arts. I believe that literacy is the foundation of all learning, and I want my students to understand the power language has to transform people, situations, and communities.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hanging out with my pack of hairless dogs, travelling, reading, and baking. I love creating things with my hands, and dabble in crafts such as crochet, beadwork, glassblowing, and cross-stitch.
