The 2016-2017 school year is my 18th year of teaching, but my 1st year here at Cesar Chavez High School. I love science, especially biology. I believe a strong understanding of the concepts in this course are important for all students. My hope is that students will leave my classroom with a strong understanding of biology, how science is done, what science is and how to think critically about our world.

Biology 1-2 is a laboratory science course for students to earn a biology lab credit for graduation. This course provides students with opportunities to think like biologists as they use scientific inquiry to study living systems. Students of biology 1-2 will explore, in depth, concepts related to cellular processes, interdependence of organisms and the environmental system, genetics and the molecular basis of heredity, and the scientific principles and processes involved in biological evolution.
