    Erica A Scrivner, is the Director of Bands and Music Technology for Carl Hayden Community High School in Phoenix, Arizona.  The groups taught by Miss Erica include: Marching Band, Symphonic Band Honors, Beginning Band, Jazz Band, Winterguard, Phoenix Union Indoor, & Creating Music through Technology.

    After receiving her Master of Music: Music Education degree from Arizona State University, she taught elementary general music and elementary band in the Mesa Public Schools District. As a trumpet player, her primary educational medium is high school band. Ms. Erica has spent over seven years teaching high school marching band, winter drumline, and winterguard. She also held an Elementary General Music position in the Washoe County School District following her graduation from the University of Nevada, Reno.

    As a performer, Erica Scrivner has played in a variety of community ensembles including the Wildwood Community Jazz Band, Danville Community Band and Reno Municipal Band. She has spent six years as a member of DCI drum and bugle corps including the Santa Clara Vanguard and Blue Devils, as well as two years marching with WGI Independent A class finalist, eNVision Percussion Theatre.

    Ms. Erica has a strong passion for secondary music education and greatly enjoys working with the young adult age groups.  Ms. Scrivner's goals include advancements in technology and academic curricula in ensembles such as marching band, pep band, and winter performance arts. Often thought of as "extra" music courses or competition-driven groups, Erica hopes to bring a heightened level of musical knowledge and skill-developing experiences to these courses. She is also interested in cross-curricular connections such as the integration of composition, technology, music-media literacy, and historical research in high school music education.
