     Golf Coach: Chris Hazelton
     
    Coach Hazelton is a product of the Phoenix Union High School District and he played golf for and graduated from Carl Hayden High School . During his senior year on the golf team at Hayden, he was recruited by Coach Haberer at Phoenix College to join the Mens Golf Program at Phoenix College. Coach Hazelton took Coach Haberer's invitation and  attended Phoenix College on scholarship, subsequently graduating from Ottawa University with a degree in History. He has been at Fairfax since the opening of the school in 2007, and has been the Boys Golf Coach since 2008. Coach is still an avid golfer and is very passionate about the game of golf and the benefits that the game brings on and off the course for the young men that join his program.

    All students who would like to play golf are welcome to try out for the golf team. We welcome new players each season, regardless of experience.   Limited or no experience will not inhibit one's opportunity to become a team member. If a player shows aptitude for the game, has the desire to play and improve, and does well in the classroom, they will become a member of the team. Members of the Varsity Golf Program are expected to play the game with integrity and to work on their golf games year-round.  Team members receive free golf year-round and individualized instruction during the season and during the off-season. Players are also provided with their handicap and statistics during the season in order to assess where improvement is gained, and where it is needed.
