Teacher Biography:
Dr. Toussaint earned a Juris Doctor degree with Distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law where she was an Executive Editor of the Nebraska Law Review. She has been published twice in national legal journals. In addition, Dr. Toussaint has an undergraduate degree in Journalism, also from the University of Nebraska. Prior to teaching at South Mountain High School, Dr. Toussaint spent ten years as a partner in a Phoenix Law firm and ten years working for a Fortune 500 corporation. While in private law practice, Dr. Toussaint's focus was exclusively in the area of Family Law where she regularly worked with school personnel and child psychologists on issues related to the best interests of children.Teacher Welcome:

I want to assist students in developing a mind that works for them so they can discover who they are, express their own opinions, and nurture their own ideas.Student Grades and Attendance:
Parents -- You can find out how many absences your student has, and your student'supdated grade every week at ParentVUE. If you don't have the access information,please contact the school's registrar at 602-764-5017. Students also have access totheir grades at all times through StudentVUE.
Homework:
Students are required to have a reading book and to read at home each night. If you do notsee your child reading at home as homework, please ask them about it and help them obtainbooks when necessary.Tutoring:Tutoring is available Tuesday through Friday during Jag Time (Advisory). Students mustsign-up in advance for tutoring.Expectations:
Every student should come each day prepared to learn. At a minimum, students will need ablack or blue ink pen and lined paper every day.The best way to be successful in my classroom is to following these four simple guidelines:1. Come to class on time.
2. Come to class prepared.
3. Be respectful to staff and students.
4. Give your best effort each day.
