Hi everyone. It's actually pretty strange how I wound up with a career in the field of Education. Originally, I followed my passion for the outdoors and earned my undergraduate degree in Forest Management at NAU. But, after working with the U.S. Forest Service for a couple of years, I returned home and opted for a teaching position in the Science Department at Carl Hayden High School. Six years later, I jumped at the chance to work at a school that was newly constructed on the side of town where I grew up, and I've been there ever since. This year marks my 13th year at Cesar Chavez High School and my 7th year as a guidance counselor. Even though my original plans didn't include teaching or counseling, I strongly believe that I am where I'm supposed to be. It's been an honor and a pleasure to be able to serve the students, parents, and families of both Laveen and my hometown of South Phoenix. It hasn't been without its challenges, but I face each day confidently, knowing the community that I work and live in shares the same concern to better prepare our youth for their future,
