Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! I am currently on my 14th year teaching here at TGB. I currently teach Chemistry but have taught Biology, Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, Environmental Science, Physical Science, and Physical Science Honors here at TGB.
I am one of the two Chemistry teachers in the department. I am in room 7112 and Ms. Cox Croft is in room 7111. We are both here to help you in your Chemistry class!
I will have expectations for you with the online programs of Quizlet and Remind. Remind is something I use every year with students for helpful hints on quiz/tests days. Quizlet it going to be used for vocabulary prep and test prep. It is in your best interests to use both!
The best way to succeed in my class is to put what you want into the class. If you are consistently absent or tardy, not completing your homework prep, or just copying from others it will be very hard to succeed. If you try your best on everything, do your own work consistently, hand everything in even if late-you will succeed in passing. Your grade is mostly based on your assessment performance. These tests and quizzes you will not have help on from your friends or pod group. That is why it is vital to attempt all the work on your own first and learn from making mistakes.
I strongly suggest that you use advisory as TUTOR time. Not to come in and hang out. If you are in my advisory, there will be expectations for that class. You will not be allowed to just sit and do nothing. Please take advantage of Advisory. Students who do use advisory consistently as work time typically earn a A-B in most of their classes.
Please check back to my page for help on unit topics, assignments, and other news.
WELCOME!!
