    Background

I grew up in inner-city West Phoenix, in the Maryvale area.

I am a product of Mitchell Elementary, Isaac Middle School, and graduated from North High School in 2001 from the International Baccalaureate Magnet Program.  At North High I was involved in sports, including track, cross country, basketball, and soccer.  I was also a member of Student Government as a Junior and Senior.

After high school I went on to Arizona State University, where I joined Tau Psi Omega Multicultural Fraternity Inc., a community service based Fraternity with a focus on family, culture and education.  I graduated from ASU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education – English.

I graduated with my Masters in Educational Technology in 2011 from Grand Canyon University.

I began my career at Cesar Chavez in 2006 and continue to work as a Champion.

I have a beautiful wife who is an Occupational Therapist in the Laveen Elementary School District and two daughters, 1 and 4 years old.

I also have 2 dogs, Yoda (Terrier) and Chewbacca (Pug-Chihuahua).
