    Hello Seniors, parents, and guardians.  Graduation will take place Wednesday, May 20th, 2020 at 6 pm at Chavez. It will be a "drive-thru ceremony" for Champion seniors. Cap and gowns were distributed this past Thursday, May 7th. from 2:30 - 5:00 pm at Chavez.  Scroll down and click on the links to the right to find out specific information about graduation Please continue checking your Microsoft TEAMS site for updates, enrichment assignments, and notifications.  Also, please check your school email regularly as updates are occurring on a daily basis.  
    Economics is a one semester required class for graduation.  Students will be learning about the following: scarcity, needs & wants, profit motive, the role of government, self-interest, Adam Smith, supply and demand, banking, advertising, entreprenuership, markets, prices, shortages, surpluses, market structures, taxes, inflation, unemployment, gross domestic product, fiscal & monetary policy, the Federal Reserve, stocks, bonds, protectionism, tariffs, quotas, corporations, income, social security, savings, credit, personal finance, and the global economy.  The wealth of knowledge for economics is complex and vast.  I will do my best to use real world examples, technology enrichment, and classroom discussions to help bridge everyone's understanding of these economic concepts.
    Every senior is expected to participate, collaborate with peers, and strive for academic excellence. AVID Cornell Notes, Close reading, & marking the text continue to be applied as common reading & learning strategies required by Caesar Chavez High School's Improvement Plan .  Every student should come prepared with a pen, pencil, notebook, highlighter, binder , thumb-drive, and Advisory agenda.   Lastly, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to email me.  Seniors this is your last semester so work harder than you ever thought possible.
