This is my 30th year teaching in the Phoenix Union District and 22st year at Cesar Chavez.
I enjoy teaching and coaching in South Phoenix.
I began my career teaching and coaching three sports and South Mt. in the early 1990s.
I am proud to part of the football coaching staff at lead South Mt. to back to back 12 win seasons
and a trip to the State Championship Football game in 1993.
After coaching football for 17 years in the district, I have been focusing my energy on the basketball program.
I started the Boys Basketball program in 1999, the year we opened the school.
Chavez boys basketball program has had tremendous success with players from our community.
We have produced many region and division titles in the last 18 years. Our success includes 2 State Runner Up finishes 2009 and 2012.
Cesar Chavez boys basketball has played in four Final Fours: 2010-11, 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2016-17.
Chavez is proud to have many players continue to play basketball in college.
The best part of being associated with the program is seeing former players graduate from college.
I have used my life experiences to develop the basketball program here at Cesar Chavez High School.
My father Jerry P. Lee is a member of the Arizona Coaches Hall of Fame and Arizona Track Coaches Hall of Fame.
I have had many opportunities to develop has a person and a coach from my father his peers at Benson High School and participating in sports programs at Phoenix College and ASU.
I am responsible for the daily workouts for the students in the weight training program at Chavez.
Activities include cardiovascular fitness with use of the track and the beautiful football stadium.
The students in weight training: Squat, Power Clean, and Bench twice a week.
Students are working toward their goal of becoming bigger and stronger.
