Hello, I am Cianne Conklin and I teach Art 1-2, Art 3-4, Art 5-6, and AP Art. I graduated from Central High School in 2001 and love every minute teaching here.
A little bit about the programs I teach are below.
Art 1-2 is an exploratory course covering most art mediums, which include: drawing, painting, graphic arts and three- dimensional work. A major emphasiswill be on the use of the elements and principles of design as they relate to various problems. This is the first art course in which a student usually enrolls.
Art 3-4 is a second year art course where one develops and produces a range of artworks which show visual knowledge and understanding along with critical and cultural awareness.
Art 5-6 is a third year course that focuses on the development of the AP portfolio and one’s self.
AP (Advanced Placement) students will develop a portfolio full of 24 art projects. 12 art projects will be part of a theme, the other 12 will show an exploration of the elements and principles or art
Students will learn
- Confidence and enthusiasm as they develop technical skills in two and three-dimensional form and composition
- The ability to identify and solve problems in visual and tactile forms
- How to develop ideas from initial attempts to final solutions
