Digital Photography
Digital Photography 1-2I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the digital photography program at Cesar Chavez High School. This is an excellent opportunity for students to get an introduction to basic concepts for acquiring digital images and the process of manipulating the images through the use of Adobe Photoshop software.The first semester will focus on basic photography skills. Students will learn techniques, terminology, and equipment associated with photography. They must first learn how and what makes a good photograph, before altering it in another program. Towards the end of the semester, students will begin to experiment with the variety of options that are available to enhance their photos.
During the second semester, students will start to develop their style of photography.They will have hands-on learning with Photoshop to make selections, crop images,use paint, editing tools, filters, layers styles, adjustments, and effects. Students will produce a portfolio of digital photographic work. Students will use problem solving to develop artworks. Students will critique their artwork based on the elements of art and principles of designDigital Photography 3-4Digital Photography 3-4 is designed for students who are seriously interested in the practical experience of art photography. Students will be introduced to new photographers, digital artists, artists, and more sophisticated techniques as points of departure to create work that reflects that individual student's spirit and vision. By exploring photographic and digital media with the camera and computer, students will be able to develop a body of work that reflects a range of problem solving and ideation, and develops versatility with techniques to demonstrate their abilities. Students will research, keep art journals, have class critiques, individual critiques, and artistic dialogues that will inspire them as they create.
