    About Me

I was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania, about 20 miles from State College and Penn State University. My dad was a high school science teacher (I had him twice!) and my mom was the director of the local public library. My family on my Dad's side has been farming in the Warriors Mark Valley since the late 1700s.  The picture on this page is a view of the farm from the top of the pasture on Bald Eagle Mountain.

    Education:
    • B.S. in Geology, Allegheny College, Meadville, PA.
    • M.Div., Bethany Theological Seminary, Richmond, IN.
    • Post-Bacc in Education, Rio Salado College, Phoenix AZ.
Following many years working in both geology and ministry, I did my student teaching in Chem/Physics at South Mountain High School in Phoenix and then joined the staff at Central High School from 2003-2006. After taking some time off to stay home and raise my daughter, I returned to Central in 2012 and taught there until May of 2023. I'm so excited to be teaching now at Maryvale Gifted & Talented. :) I love the diversity of the students, working with fantastic colleagues, and the Phoenix metro area. Go Panthers!
