    GRADING SYSTEM

All students are expected to participate in and perform classroom and shop activities and assignments.

A grade of 100% is required on all safety tests.

A minimum passing grade of 70% or better or meeting specified or industry requirements on all written/performance assignments. Completing all jobs to the Instructor's specified level or industry standards.

Grades are based on two areas:

25% on classroom performance, including tests, worksheets, and activities.

25% on lab work, including projects, skill development and production.

40% on State Standards and Competencies.

10% on end of the term assessment

All grades are based on the following scale:

          90 -100% =   A - Superior

          80 - 89%   =   B – Above Average

          70 - 79% =    C - Average

          60 - 69% =    D – Below Average

          Below 60% = F Fail Incomplete

Students are working for mastery of important employment skills. A grade of B or 80% indicates the minimum level for mastery in all learning activities. Work done at less than 80% must be repeated until mastery is achieved. Incompletes shall be made up within one calendar year after they are received. Failure to make up the Incomplete will result in a grade of F.

Non-performance or lack of effort will result in a nine (9) week term grade of F (Fail), or a grade of D (below industry standard). A grade of D is the minimum grade for credit.

    GRADING PERIODS/AWARD OF CREDIT

The Automotive Collision Repair class awards credit on the basis of 1/2 credit per each nine (9) week grading period. Grades will be determined and report cards issued at the end of every nine (9) week grading period.
