• Certified Staff Application Process 

    (Teachers, Counselors, Social Workers, School Psychologists, Nurses, Athletic Trainers, and JROTC Instructors)

    Step 1

    Applicants must complete an online application and upload the following documents:

    • Resume (Resumes must include an individual's educational background, teaching background, and experience in a particular academic content subject area. ARS 15-341, A 30)
    • Copy of Transcripts
    • Copy of Current Certificate or Licensure
    • Copy of Current Fingerprint Clearance Card - back and front
    • Three Letters of Recommendation 

    Step 2

    District-level initial screening interview must be completed (Once the online application has been completed, applicants must call 602-764-1100 to schedule a District screening interview). Screening interviews and scores are valid for 2 years.

    Step 3

    Qualified applicants are forwarded to the campuses (This can only occur after the completion of the first two steps).

    Step 4

    The interview is conducted by campus administration/interview team.

    Step 5

    Campuses will recommend qualified applicants to the Talent Division, who can then proceed with an offer of employment. The Talent Division are the only Division able to make offers of employment within the District. 

    Salary Placement

    Guidelines for Newly Hired Teacher/Certified Staff for 2022-2023 School Year:

    The following information represents the salary placement for all newly hired Teacher/Certified Staff positions for the 2022-2023 school year. Placement of new hires will be made based on the verified teaching experience at the time of hire using the following criteria:

    • 0-1 Years Credited Experience - Step A
    • 2 Years Credited Experience - Step B
    • 3 Years Credited Experience - Step C
    • 4 Years Credited Experience- Step D
    • 5 Years Credited Experience - Step E
    • 6 Years Credited Experience - Step F
    • 7 Years Credited Experience - Step G
    • 8+ Years Credited Experience - Step H 

     

    **The initial placement for Nurses (with a bachelor's Degree), Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, School Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists will be Step I.  These new hires will be given one step for each year of verified experience in the profession, up to 8 years total.  The maximum placement for an employee hired into one of these positions will be Step P.
