    Welcome to Physical Education! It is my pleasure to have you in my class. I hope you have a great learning experience and gain an appreciation for lifelong fitness.I am a native Arizonan who grew up in central Phoenix and attended Arizona State University for both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. I am married with 3 sons, one of whom also teaches at TGB. I enjoy spending time with my family in the outdoors camping, fishing, hiking and attending sporting events. Sports have been a huge part of my life, as an athlete, as well as a spectator and coach for my own boys. I have been coaching since graduating high school, mainly volleyball, basketball, and softball, because I have a love for athletics, and watching players grow and develop into strong athletes and confident young ladies.
     
    I began teaching at TGB in 1993 and have taught a variety of courses in both Physical Education and Health. It is my hope to encourage students to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy being lifelong participants in an active lifestyle that they both enjoy and that contributes to their overall health.  An active lifestyle leads to better physical and mental health and should involve activities one enjoys doing.  These can involve playing sports we enjoy, working out in a gym, and/or participating in other exercise activities such as jogging, swimming, dancing,and martial arts.
