• February is American Heart Month, a time when PXU and the nation spotlight heart disease. Heart disease is the #1 killer of Americans. Heart Month is a time when all people can focus on their cardiovascular health.  

    In most cases, heart disease is preventable when people adopt a healthy lifestyle, which includes not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, controlling blood sugar and cholesterol, eating a healthy diet, treating high blood pressure, participating in physical activity, getting enough sleep and getting regular checkups.
