The National Art Education Association recently honored Julie Haug from North High School with the 2023 Arizona Art Educator Award. This prestigious award is determined through a peer review of nominations. It honors an outstanding association member from each state whose service and contribution to art education merits recognition and acclaim. Ms. Haug is a National Board-Certified Visual Arts Educator whose priority is to educate students about all aspects of visual art. Serving students in Arizona since 2004, Ms. Haug has taken multiple leadership roles within the school, district, local, and national art communities. She earned the Inspire Award from the Scottsdale Museum of Modern Art in 2013, served as Central Region Chairperson in 2015, was awarded the Secondary Art Educator of the Year in 2016, served as AAEA President in 2017, and teacher advisor for the Scholastic Arts Magazine from 2019 through 2022. Ms. Haug is a dedicated teacher and mentor to countless students in PXU. Congratulations, Ms. Haug!
