    Jennifer Sundling Jennifer started working with the Phoenix Union High School District during the 2017-2018 School Year as a partnership between the Phoenix Union High School District and Banner Health. Jennifer worked with Banner Health for 10 years in their Employee Wellness Program. Her position was to identify health risks in the Banner Health and Sonora Quest populations. Jennifer provided individual and group consultations regarding health risks, prevention and lifestyle choices, health information materials, resources and referrals. She also worked with Dietitians and Nurse Educators to create classes that met the health needs of the employees. Jennifer became an employee of the Phoenix Union High School District at the beginning of the 2022 – 2023 School Year as the District’s first Manager, Staff Health and Wellness for the Physical and Financial Pillars. She continues working with employees to identify health risks and prevention lifestyle choices, including hosting classes and screening events.

    Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University in Exercise Science and Physical Education. She taught Elementary Physical Education for 13 years before working for Banner Health. Jennifer also holds a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania. Jennifer is a Lifestyle Coach through the Association of Diabetes Care and Education and holds certifications as a Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Coaching Healthy Behaviors, Yoga and Barre Certifications. Jennifer believes that preventative lifestyle choices empower individuals to make healthy choices in their lives. Through her work with PXU, she will continue to spread her message until every PXU employee has the tools they need to live their best life possible. 

  • Cyndy Nelke, Employee Benefits Specialist

    Cyndy Cyndy Nelke is a long-time PXU employee with over 25 years in our District. She started with PXU in the Payroll Department before moving to Talent as a Personnel Specialist. She later transitioned to the Employee Benefits Specialist role which she has held for almost 20 years. Ms. Nelke has a B.S. in Administrative Services from Arizona State University and extensive knowledge in the benefits area.  

  • As we continue to roll out our new strategy to provide holistic support for all PXU employees, I want to introduce you to our team of Staff Health and Wellness Specialists, Dr. Erika Collins-Frazier, LPC, and NCC, and Cailene Pisciotta, LPC.

    Erika Collins FrazierDr. Erika Collins-Frazier, NCC, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma Therapy, and Crisis Intervention.  She has extensive training in treating trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder which includes CCTS-I and DBT, both evidence-based treatment modalities.  She received her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with the Emphasis in Mental Health from GCU, as well as a MA in Professional Counseling and a MA in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University in Phoenix, AZ.  Dr. Collins-Frazier, LPC, NCC has been serving recipients of the mental health system since 2000 and believes that wellness and self-care are paramount to a healthy work/life balance.

  • Cailene PisciotaCailene Pisciotta, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes in a strength-based and behavioral approach to helping all individuals see their potential and thrive.  She received her BA in Psychology at Saint Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana, and a MA in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis on the Treatment of Addiction Disorders at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.  She has been practicing in the mental health field since 2010, serving a diverse population of clients and a wide range of mental health issues.  Her training includes Addiction Treatment, Strengths-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Crisis Prevention/Intervention.  Cailene believes wellness is a team effort; she works with each person in a collaborative manner, building confidence in abilities and achieving successful outcomes.  She is passionate about education and mental health and is excited to be a resource to the teachers and staff in the Phoenix Union High School District.

    The role of the Staff Health and Wellness Specialist is an integral part of the wellness team as they are:

    • Supporting, building, facilitating, and promoting employee safety, health, and wellness
    • Eliminating barriers to performing effectively in the work environment
    • Providing intervention-based individual therapeutic services to employees
    • Connecting with community agencies and/or EAP for ongoing assistance to promote wellness

    The team of Staff Health and Wellness Specialists have a rich background in a variety of mental health therapies in community mental health settings, acute care inpatient psychiatric facilities, child and family agencies, community health, and mental health advocacy organizations, and utilizing a variety of evidenced-based techniques and skills. Along with their role in supporting your emotional health, they too are a part of our larger holistic wellness model.
