Madison Gallagher
North High School
Madison Gallagher is a senior at North High School who is driven and has accomplished a lot during her high school journey. Although she grew up in the Estrella Foothills area, she knew that North High School would be where she eventually landed because her father, JROTC Lieutenant Colonel James Gallagher, is a teacher at North and her older siblings attended the school. Receiving her high school education at North has been rewarding for her. She feels she has had good relationships with every teacher, and they have all taught her different valuable lessons that she has taken with her. She has also made many friends, gained new perspectives, and increased her confidence through her experiences.
To Madison, extracurriculars are just as important as her academics. On campus, Madison is the Battalion Commander of JROTC, the Captain of the volleyball team, and the Senior Class Vice President. She believes that extracurriculars are a great way to learn discipline and valuable life skills such as timeliness and hard work. Due to her dedication and everything she has learned, Madison will be attending the United States Airforce Academy after graduation. In order to be appointed to the Air Force Academy, individuals must receive at least one of five different types of recommendations. Madison received four out of five, including recommendations from Congressman Raul Grijalva and Senator Mark Kelly, which were not easy recommendations to receive.
Outside of academics and extracurriculars, Madison enjoys sleeping, watching any kind of movie except for horror, reading, learning, and growing as a person. A quote that reflects Madison's drive is one by Vince Lombardi. "Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence," reads the quote that Madison cited.
