• WHAT: A gathering of high school dancers from across the PXU district to participate in a day of dance. Most schools are bringing their advanced/company levels of dance. Students have been in class for 3-4 years with training in ballet, jazz, and modern/contemporary. 

     

    WHY: Expose our students to dance forms and styles not expressly taught in our curriculum:  Flamenco, Voguing, Hip Hop, Bachata. Also, to build community across our huge district and bring people together after the digital times.

    08:15-08:45 - Warm-up- getting to know you
    08:45-09:30 - Rotation 1
    09:35-10:20 - Rotation 2
    10:25-11:10 - Rotation 3
    11:15-11:55 - Lunch
    12:00-12:45 - Rotation 4 (students stay for creative process)
    12:50-02:15 - Creative process
    02:20-02:35 - Informal Showing
    02:35-02:35 - End of day

     

    Showcase: The day ends with each of the groups sharing their final product onstage in the auditorium.
