Hello to our Spartan Community!
We hope that this letter finds you happy, healthy and finding time to relax and rejuvenate over the summer. This past year brought so many challenges, loneliness and grief but as I write this letter we are on the brink of a brand-new school year where we will be together again and we stand ready to get back to the ‘Love and Learning’ that happens at Camelback High and in the PXU district.
We officially kicked off our countdown to the start of school on July 15th and as promised this letter and attachments contain all of the critical information for a successful start to the school year. Be sure to read the updates below as well as the attachments and then sign up for your grade level “Remind” group so you can ask us any questions and stay in the loop.
PXU Health and Safety Protocols
We have included with this letter all of the PXU Health and Safety Protocols for this next year. There are two main points to reinforce with this welcome back letter.
- All students will engage in learning at their campus via in-person instruction for this school year. Parents may elect to have their student participate in virtual learning (online school) by enrolling them into PXU Digital Academy.
- Per the recent Governor's Executive Order 2021-15, Protecting Student Access to Public Higher Education, face masks will be optional and no longer required for students, staff, parents, and community. However, per CDC guidelines persons with certain health conditions and those not vaccinated are encouraged to wear face masks.
Schedules Available on July 26th!
On Monday, July 26th schedules will be available for all fully registered students on StudentVue and ParentVue. When schedules are released you can see your classes for the year and even message your counselor with any questions. If you do not have StudentVue or ParentVue set up then follow the instructions included with this mailer.
Student ID and Technology Available

New Bell Schedule and Modified ‘Day One’ Schedule
Phoenix Union and Camelback High School have adopted a new bell schedule for this coming year. This schedule integrates the many lessons learned during the pandemic by offering longer classes with fewer transitions while also bringing back our advisory class period. The new bell schedule as well as a special schedule for “Day One” are included in this mailer.
Advisory is Back!
Advisory is returning four days a week. This class period is all about building connection; connection to ourselves, others, the school and the world. We are excited to bring back this class period which has been so important to our students over the years and was missed during the pandemic.
