Students in this department are challenged not only to learn the fundamentals of performance techniques, but to discover the continuing relevance of live performance in a world increasingly dominated by electronic media. The Performing Arts bring people together to collaborate, to create a shared experience that transcends the individual relationship between a person and a device and elevates our understanding of what it is to be a part of a community.

The Cesar Chavez Performing Arts Department offers a wide variety of course offerings from the beginning to Honors level in Instrumental Music, Choir, Dance and Theatre. We extend the offer to any student that if they join us, they will have access to a staff of professional educators and artists who love to teach their art form as much as the art form itself. They will be challenged to reach beyond themselves and join with others to create and share the joy of performance with the school and community.
