School Counselor (Instructional Leader)
M. Ed. School Counseling

Hello Central! I am excited about being part of the Bobcat counseling family. Although I am new to the position, I have over 16 years of experience in education as a Math teacher. I started teaching in 2002, shortly after I graduated from Arizona State University, at the high school level. My career as a teacher was very rewarding. I enjoyed seeing students grow and achieve. I especially enjoyed when students, who once thought they were not good at Math, excel.
To better serve my students, I returned to school to acquire a Masters of Education in school counseling. The education I received from Northern Arizona University shifted my focus from teaching Math standards, to teaching students the tools to deal with personal, social, and emotional issues. I am an advocate for students in their turbulent journey through school, career, and life.
