English 5-6H/ ENG101 and ENH111 Dual Enrollment: My classroom promotes educational motivation, classroom engagement, class discussion, punctuality, and accountability. This class exposes students to the array of questions, ideas, and values found in short stories, news articles, and literature. Attending class, taking effective notes, reading, and sharing ideas are all essential elements to success in this class. All student work will be kept by the student in their white binder (provided for them) under the 'English' tab and in Microsoft Teams. Organization is an essential skill that students will need to master in this classroom. Because literature takes many forms, I find it helpful to show some films to supplement the material. We will be listening to music and watching films to help better our understanding of some assignments.
AP Language & Composition/ ENG 101 Dual Enrollment: "AP English Language and Composition is an introductory college-level composition course. Students cultivate their understanding of writing and rhetorical arguments through reading, analyzing, and writing texts as they explore topics like rhetorical situation, claims and evidence, reasoning and organization, and style" (CollegeBoard). This course meets the requirement for English 101 credit as well. Students have the opportunity to sign up for college credit through South Mountain Community College.
Clever is utilized in our classroom, and students can find bellwork, their textbook, and class assignments there. Students must login with their regular school login information.
