Phoenix Sister Cities Youth Exchange Program
Every year Phoenix Sister Cities, Inc. selects High School sophomores and juniors to participate in an experience of a lifetime! Students travel during June of each year to one of our TEN Sister Cities, serving as a Youth Ambassador.
As a Youth Ambassador, students become part of a global community, learn about different cultures, make great friends from around the world, and participate in a life-changing experience!
Preview Night on November 5th. Students and their parents are invited to attend Preview Night to learn all about the program and how to apply online.

Hello Central Team,
Youth Exchange Program 1Youth Exchange Program_Information
Youth Exchange Program_One Page
Do you have any globally-minded students in your classroom or school? Do you know a student that could represent Phoenix as an Ambassador? Applications for the Phoenix Sister Cities Youth Ambassador Exchange Program open next Tuesday, October 1.
The Youth Ambassador Exchange Program is a life changing opportunity for your students to be fully immersed in a foreign culture. Phoenix 10th and 11th graders selected to take part in YAEP 2020 will spend three weeks in the home of their international counterpart in one of Phoenix’s sister cities during June and three weeks hosting their counterpart here in Phoenix during July. Youth Ambassadors obtain valuable insight into intercultural communication, develop leadership skills, and learn the significance of citizen diplomacy.
Would you share this opportunity with your sophomore and junior students? I am also available to come to your classroom or school to give a short presentation on the program, table, or to meet with interested students. If you are interested in having us come to your school, please email me back at April.cavaletto@phoenix.gov.
More information, and the application starting October 1, is available at [phoenixsistercities.org/youth-ambassador.]phoenixsistercities.org/youth-ambassador. Our flier and informational packet are attached.
Please let me know if you or your students have any questions!
