    COURSE STATEMENT:

    SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT I:

An introductory year-long high school computer science class focused on foundational software development concepts and computational practices. SD I advocates a "hands-on" learning approach in which students' primary means of learning is through discovery, experimentation, and application. To that end, each unit is built around a large, culminating, programming project that exercises the objectives of the unit.

    SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT II:

A year-long advanced software design course focused on extending the learning of students in a self-guided, self-paced, problem-solving, real-world, skills-based way. Students in SD II will spend their time in and out of class, learning not only how to code but learning about the rich, developing world of computer science, job opportunities, and integration of technology into the bigger picture of 21st century life.
