Last year we partnered with Golden Door Scholars who awarded 107 scholarships worth $40,000 each (a total of $4,000,000) to Dreamers (students with DACA status) nationwide.
We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with Golden Door Scholars again this year to help award scholarships to another 50 Dreamers from across the country!

The Cesar Chavez Foundation, in partnership with PepsiCo, invite students of Latino descent who are beginning or continuing their studies at higher educational institutions in Arizona and California’s Central Valley, to apply for the PepsiCo Cesar Chavez Latino Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund provides $300,000 in scholarship awards to qualified Latino students in Arizona and California regardless of national origin or immigration status in an effort to promote their academic success. It supports 10 scholarships at $5,000 per student annually and will continue to do so until 2021. Scholarships are granted solely based on academic excellence, leadership in extra-curricular activities, commitment to volunteer service in the community and financial need. They are designed to supplement the students’ financial resources from family, government, and other sources. The intent is to fill the gaps our students encounter in financing a college education.

Academic And Leadership Accelerator for Service (ALAS)
This is a one year program for first and second generation students. During the program you will be attending 14 workshops on college knowledge, life-skills, and social consciousness. You will be partner with a mentor, and place into internships or jobs.

Our application is due October 23rd and the program starts November 3rd. So there is still a little room in which we can accept applications. If your students can fill out this form as soon as they can that would be great. That form is the link to the application for the Arizona Leaders Rise program (AZLR). We try to reach out to first and second generation students that are Juniors but if you have seniors in mind they can apply as well.

Why DREAMer's Roadmap?
Dreamers Roadmap is a national non profit app that helps undocumented students find scholarships to go to college. For years undocumented students have struggled more than permanent residents or citizen students in everyday situations. But when senior year of high school comes around it becomes one of the hardest years for an undocumented student. This is the year when most students find out that they don't qualify for FAFSA and the majority of scholarships. First because they don't have a social security number and second because they are not "legal" permanent residents or citizens of the United States. Many students by this point are discouraged and don't believe that going to college is a possibility. That is why we are very proud to provide the Dreamers Roadmap App for students across the country. Our tool will equipt DREAMers to realize their full potential and path to college.

Juan Reyes and Jose Patino Dreamers Scholarship “Every Student Deserves the Right to a Dream, and Dreams Do Come True” We are offering a scholarship for Dreamers in honor of two former students athletes from Phoenix Union High School District who immigrated to the United States at an early age.
Both of these individuals would like to continue serving the Phoenix Union community by offering a $7500.00 scholarship to a Phoenix Union student/athlete who has financial challenges due to varying economic barriers, which may inhibit him/her from obtaining a college education. Minimum Requirements
1. You must be a DACA or undocumented student
2. You must be willing to consider a community college education in your first year
3. 3.0 GPA or higher
4. Evidence of 15 hours of community service
5. Evidence of AP or Honors courses
6. Evidence of athletic achievement (minimum of 1 year of Varsity sports)

College Advising Guide for Undocumented Students
In 2009, the the Inclusion, Access, and Success Committee (formerly Human Relations) published its first edition of the College Advising Guide for Undocumented Students designed to provide assistance to high school counselors and other individuals who work with undocumented students. The feedback from high school counselors and college admission representatives was overwhelmingly positive.
It is our goal to include every college and university within the U.S. that welcomes undocumented students on their campus. Through outreach and greater access to accurate information, we can ensure that college is possible for all who want to attend.

College Success Arizona is excited to announce that we have extended the scholarship eligibility criteria to include processed and approved Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients. This change takes place immediately. DACA students are now eligible for in-state tuition, which creates the opportunity for a College Success Arizona Scholarship award to be a valuable resource in helping these students meet their educational financial needs. Our financial awards, coupled with our intrusive mentoring and success program can help Arizona’s high-need, high-potential students reach their educational goals.
DACA students are able to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), using their newly assigned social security numbers. This administrative change allows College Success Arizona to verify the student meets the scholarship income criteria. To be eligible to apply and compete for an award, all students must meet the full requirements of our scholarship.
We are pleased to welcome the DACA students who are participants in our college pipeline partner organizations to the scholarship application process for the 2016-2017 academic year. On that note, please have your students save the dates for our upcoming scholarship presentations in Phoenix at the Burton Barr Library:

The Rudy Aguallo Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015 to honor the life of Rudy Aguallo and to continue his legacy of generosity, kindness and mentoring nature. Each year scholarships of various amounts are awarded to students who have demonstrated community service, academic success and leadership qualities.
