Hello, my name is Mario E. López.  I come from Turicachi Sonora, Mexico. It’s a privilege and an honor to be given the opportunity to serve the Maryvale High School students, and the community, and to work for the Phoenix Union High School District.  This is my ninth year as a counselor, but I am not new to the educational field.  Since 1996, I have taught different subjects and at different grade levels. I have retired from the US military (Persian Gulf War Veteran), and for the past thirty years, I have enjoyed coaching different sports.   I have a wonderful wife and four awesome children; two of them attend the Phoenix Union High School District.

I see a lot of vibrant energy in our younger generation.  As a counselor, I want to help our students focus that energy towards an effervescent future.   Maryvale High School and our school district have a lot to offer our students.  I believe that with all the staff here at Maryvale High School, parents, and support from our school district pulling together, exhausting all available resources will quantify our student's ostentatious success.
