Trevor Browne boys basketball holds tryouts at the beginning of each basketball season to select their freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity basketball teams. Tryouts typically range from three days to a week in length. Players are evaluated on their basketball skills, academic grades, work ethic, and responsiveness to coaching.
High school basketball is very competitive and it is recommended that each player come into tryouts in shape, passing all their classes, and have been improving their game since last season. The decision to keep or cut a player is made collectively by all coaches with final say being up to the varsity coach.
Players will be evaluated and scored (1-5) throughout tryouts, these scores will assist the coaches in selecting their team.
All questions involving the tryout process should be directed to Coach Greenough.
