Rules and Guidelines for the Art Studio
Students will show respect for self, classmates, and teachers.
Students will not talk or be disruptive while others are talking.
Students will not have or use cell phones, electronic devices, food/drinks, or grooming items during the class period. These items may be confiscated.
Students will attend class daily, arrive on time, and be prepared to start when the bell rings. Students who are absent, excused or unexcused are responsible for making up incomplete work. Students who do not finish their work during class time are responsible for finding time to make up the work. Some assignments can be taken home to be completed, others require special tools or equipment that will require coming into the studio before school, at lunch, or after school. This make up time can be scheduled with Ms. Jacobs.
Students will share materials, tools, and responsibilities, clean up after themselves and their table group, and take care of the art tools and materials.
Students will come in the art studio quietly, sit in their assigned seat, and stay seated unless they have permission to get up.
Students will participate and put in their best creative effort into their work. Participation is 15% of the total grade, but lack of participation will result in incomplete work. Work will not be graded until it is complete. This will effect a much higher percentage of the grade. Effort and creativity are included on every rubric and necessary to achieve passing grades.
Students will do their own work and they will turn in their work on time. (Copying work is plagiarism, having others do the work is cheating, both are a violation of school and classroom policies.) Students who do not finish their work during class time are responsible for finding time to make up the work. Some assignments can be taken home to be completed, others require special tools or equipment that will require coming into the studio before school, at lunch, or after school. This make up time can be scheduled with Ms. Jacobs.
Students who finish early will be given additional time to work on bell work, ie; sketchbook assignments, art dictionary assignments, art journal assignments, and art history folder assignments.
Students will follow the school rules. School rules can be found in the PUHSD 2013 Student Procedures Handbook.
Students will have a good attitude and have fun while learning and creating in the art studio.
