Central High School's Visual Arts Department has a variety of courses that will fit your artistic needs.  We offer beginning courses as well as Advanced Placement (AP) courses for the highly experienced artist.  We offer 5 courses including Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, Digital Photography, Explorations of Art, and Traditional Photography. We use student feedback, research based teaching methods, and critical learning communities to guide our curriculum.  

At Central High School we believe that displaying and showcasing our student's artwork is what helps them strive to create amazing pieces of art. 

We host and participate in a variety of art compititions annually.  They include

• The Arizona State Fair
• Valley Metro Bus Wrap Contest
• Shemer "Horizons" art competition
• Phoenix Union High School Art Competition
• Doodle for Google
• Visual Arts Displays around campus, in the front office, library, outside of classroom doors.
